Staff Sergeant Russ Miller!!

This is what Russ’ nominator had to say about him:

The man that I would like to nominate is a Staff Sergeant in the US Army.  He is a two tour veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, a father of two wonderful children.  He, like your grandfather [My grandpa Jim], was an MP during his tours in the Middle East, returning stateside to become a recruiter in Springfield, Oregon.
Why is he a hero to me?  Pretty simple, he turned his late teen life around, took a bold step and joined the Army after 9/11 and stepped up to serve this nation when we needed it most.  I am proud to call him a friend, and my brother.  My hero is Staff Sergeant Russ Miller, US Army.


Staff Sergeant Russ Miller, like many, many others here, I cannot thank you enough for your unwavering courage and sacrifice for our country. We are only free because of you. I am honored and proud to have men like you watching over people like me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. We salute you!
